The Master's Degree in Biomedical Research offers the possibility of carrying out Master's Thesis. The research lines of the IBGM are grouped into 3 large Research Units: The Cellular and Molecular Physiology Unit, the Innate Immunity and Inflammation Unit and the Molecular Genetics of Disease Unit. Additional lines of research (Other lines) are also offered by other professors of the Master's program from outside the IBGM. The professors who participate in the training period (Master's degree) and in the research period of the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Research also offer the possibility for students enrolled in the program to carry out the Doctoral Thesis at the end of the Master's degree period.
Research lines:
- Cell therapy
- Development of the inner ear
- Nervous system development and degeneration
- Splicing and cancer susceptibility
- Molecular genetics of hereditary cancer
- Targeted gene modification
- Cancer pathobiology
- Central nervous system development and neurogenesis
- Polymers of biomedical interest
- Neurogenesis in the adult brain
- Ocular Immunology
- Polymers of Biomedical Interest
- Ribosome inactivating proteins
Master's students may carry out their research work in related lines of research directed by professors from outside the Master's program as long as one of the Master's professors acts as co-director.
