The new Master's Degree in Biomedical Research and Advanced Therapies (MIByTA) is a new and innovative proposal jointly promoted by the University of Valladolid and the Spanish National Research Council through its joint centre, the IBGM (Institute of Biomedicine and Molecular Genetics of Valladolid) in response to the need to update the training of students as you towards scientific and technological progress. In just a few years, the advance of biomedical research has led to the development of new technologies, which has led to the proposal of new medical and biomedical applications, especially in the field of Advanced Therapies, which is why it is very necessary to update the knowledge towards which biomedical research is directed!
Our aim is to train you as a professional in Health Sciences Research so that you are able to apply advances in Cellular and Molecular Biology, as well as Genetics and Data Science to the medical field, in addition to integrating basic knowledge of molecular mechanisms and their biological functions with their application to human health and disease. In this way, you will contribute to the effective transfer of scientific knowledge to improve the living conditions of the population. To this end, you will be able to integrate into multiple professional environments:
- Specific doctoral programmes in basic and/or clinical biomedical research.
- Companies in the bio-health field.
- Private biotechnology research centres and companies.
- Public research management companies or centres.
- Teaching and research in universities.
- Advanced therapy laboratories.
- Pharmaceutical industry: production of medicines, vaccines and diagnostic tests.
- Service and consultancy companies for products used in diagnosis or biomedical research.
- Intellectual property managers. Exploitation and dissemination of results and patents.
- Project development (product developer, business opportunities, markets).
The teaching of this master's degree directly involves more than 50 lecturers and researchers with recognised teaching and research experience in specific areas of biomedicine that guarantee the quality of the students' training. This master's degree involves the completion of 60 credits in one academic year, which allows you to acquire highly specialised training.
