What you should know
The general objective of our Master's Degree is to provide a solid knowledge of specific aspects of basic sciences such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology and Physiology and Physiopathology, which will enable you to develop your future professional activity in basic biomedical research in both public and private organisations; in biotechnological industries; for teaching and scientific dissemination; management; and other work related to these sciences.
To meet this objective, the studies and activities of the Master's degree will allow:
- Introduce you to the professional environment of biomedical research so that you become familiar with the dynamics of knowledge generation in research centres, as well as the most advanced lines of research and experimental methods in biomedical research.
- To provide you with the most advanced knowledge in Biomedicine and Biomedical Research including the basics of Cellular and Molecular Physiology, the applications of Molecular Biology and Data Science for biomedical research including the most advanced theoretical concepts, experimental methods and biological models.
- Learn all the essential knowledge of advanced therapies, including gene therapies, cell and tissue therapies and immunotherapies, as well as the transversal methodologies necessary for their development.
- Introduce you to molecular diagnostics, personalised medicine and the most innovative techniques in the field of biomedicine for the design and development of personalised treatments and patient-centred medicine.
- To train you through the best quality to develop a competitive work, both nationally and internationally, to join the research career in the best doctoral programmes in biomedical research or as specialist technologists in biomedicine development centres and advanced therapies.
Competences and skills
You will acquire skills in the critical interpretation of scientific literature, the design and execution of experiments, and the analysis and interpretation of data. You will also develop skills in the use of advanced technologies in biomedicine and innovative therapies, which will enable you to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in key areas of health and medicine.
